El derecho de participación en niños, niñas y adolescentes (NNA) es un derecho clave para el ejercicio de otros derechos. El marco de enfoque de capacidad y capacidades en desarrollo analiza qué factores dentro del control social, como la familia, amigos y creencia en las leyes y autorida-des, y factores como rasgos de personalidad, se relacionan con el ejercicio del derecho de participación de NNA. El objetivo del estudio fue analizar los factores protectores informales y de personalidad relacionados con el conocimiento y ejercicio del derecho de participación en la escuela. En una muestra de 342 NNA y jóvenes, se utilizaron medidas de autorreporte para evaluar las variables del estudio y se corrió un modelo de ecuaciones estructurales para analizar el efecto entre los factores. Los resultados mos-traron la importancia de investigar el ejercicio de derechos de NNA en su vida cotidiana y el papel de un ambiente familiar positivo.
