Acerca de
This chapter offers a comparative analysis of workers’ compensation in the United States and Mexico. It begins with a brief historical overview of each country’s workers’ compensation system and its legal foundation. The analysis then addresses the scope of coverage, benefit structures, and the claim administration process while underlining key differences in each country’s system. The chapter also discusses the funding structures highlighting the payroll-based contributions in Mexico and the employer purchased insurance in Mexico. It concludes with a brief discussion of significant challenges faced by each country’s system.
