Los modelos lineales de producción y consumo han contribuido al agotamiento de los recursos naturales, a la generación excesiva de residuos y han generado cambios climáticos, lo que supone desafíos para la sostenibilidad y el bienestar de los entornos urbanos. El objetivo de esta investigación es identificar factores de la economía circular para optimizar los recursos, reduciendo el impacto ambiental y mejorando la calidad de vida de la sociedad. … economía circular, la sostenibilidad urbana y ciudades inteligentes; se analizan estudios de caso, informes y documentos académicos para determinar las conexiones entre estos conceptos y su potencial para la planificación urbanística. Como resultado de la investigación, destaca la adopción de estrategias circulares en sectores como la construcción, el transporte y la gestión de residuos, para minimizar el uso de recursos naturales y disminuir la generación de desechos. En conclusión, se sugiere la integración de la economía circular para el diseño de ciudades inteligentes y sostenibles, por medio de la colaboración entre gobierno, empresas y ciudadanos.
